Camp Sites

Ablution Facilities

Tiled, bright and well kept — the thing our guests mention most often in reviews. We keep adding to them, most recently a new mini ablution block before the festive season.

Swimming Pool

A generous resort pool with lawn on all sides, fountain jets and space to actually swim. Silver Award winner, 2018 National Spa & Pool Institute of South Africa awards.

Beach & River Access

Private access to the beach and the Kwelera River, straight from the resort. Access is controlled, which is why both stay quiet even in season.

Our own security division

Yellow Sands runs Black Scorpion Protection Services in-house — fully registered with PSIRA, not outsourced to a contractor.

  • Security personnel on site 24 hours a day
  • Entire management team PSIRA trained and certified
  • Decades of combined security experience
  • Controlled access, so children can ride their bikes freely
  • Active in community security initiatives beyond our gate

The Detail That Matters

Ablutions we're happy to photograph

Most campsites won't show you their bathrooms. Ours come up again and again in guest reviews — "neat ablution facilities", "clean ablutions" — which is the review we're most pleased to keep getting.

They're cleaned and checked daily by our housekeeping team, and we keep adding to them — fold-down shower benches, shelves, and a new mini block added before the last festive season.

Somewhere to Cool Off

An award-winning pool

Lawn on all sides, fountain jets, and enough length to actually swim rather than shuffle around. Poolside tanning benches were refreshed in the last round of winter upgrades.

It took a Silver Award in the 2018 National Spa & Pool Institute of South Africa awards, in the semi-public and public pools category.

Behind the Scenes

Services We Manage Ourselves

Power, water and the things that keep a resort running are all handled in-house — which means we set our own standards and fix things on our own timeline.

Electricity

Supplied direct by Eskom and reticulated across the resort by our own team. Every site is electrified.

Water

Borehole supply, safe to use throughout the resort. It's slightly brak but perfectly safe to drink — and we have it laboratory tested so you don't have to take our word for it.

Drinking water station

Outside reception you'll find a complimentary filtered and UV-treated rainwater station. Bring your own containers — it's free, and it's become one of the most popular things we've added.

Tent set-up assistance

Arriving late, travelling solo, or simply not in the mood to wrestle canvas? Our team can help you pitch. Available during office hours for a small fee — just ask at reception.

Connectivity

Complimentary Wi-Fi hotspots, with more being rolled out. For mobile data, MTN and Vodacom give the best coverage here.

Please Read Before Booking

Site Allocation & Park Layout

The single thing guests most often assume wrongly — so it's worth being clear.

Low Season & Easter Weekend

Camp sites are allocated on arrival — they cannot be reserved in advance. This surprises people, so it's worth saying plainly: booking guarantees you a site, not a specific site. Bookings are still essential.

High Season (1 Dec – 10 Jan)

This is the only period where specific sites can be requested, and it works in order of priority:

1

Guests who camped 20 nights or longer the previous December get first right to rebook their same site, or move to another available one.

2

New bookings of 20 nights or longer, with deposit paid, are allocated from the remaining unbooked sites.

3

Bookings shorter than 20 nights follow set minimum-stay dates and don't carry site preference.
