Arrival and Departure Times
- Arrivals must be within office hours: Monday to Friday 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:00, and Saturday to Sunday 09:00–13:00. These are our core hours; we extend them over peak and busy periods.
- Preferred arrival time is 12:00. Preferred departure time is 10:00.
- If you are unable to arrive within office hours, kindly notify the resort immediately during office hours. Late arrivals are to report to reception the following morning once reception has opened.
- Please ensure you have checked in before fully setting up camp, to confirm the area chosen has not been closed by management.
Site Allocation
- Sites are chosen on arrival. Booking of specific sites is not permitted in low season, and a booking secures your stay rather than a particular site.
- Not every site qualifies for the Senior, Monthly or Long-Term rates. Guests booked on one of those rates may only occupy a qualifying site — please ask at reception, who will point you to the ones that do.
- Please check in before fully setting up, so we can confirm the area you have chosen is open.
Senior Specials (valid 1 February – 31 October only)
- Senior specials apply only to persons aged 60 and over. ID or passport is required to verify age.
- A maximum of 2 senior persons is allowed for the monthly (30 night) special rate. Additional persons will be charged at the daily rate.
- For the purposes of invoicing, the resort defines "monthly" as 30 nights from the date of arrival.
Pet Policy (permitted during Low Season only)
- Pet types and seasons: only small dogs are permitted during low season, subject to prior arrangement. Strictly no cats are allowed on the premises. Pet parrots and birds may be accommodated provided their noise does not disrupt other guests.
- Confinement: dogs must be contained within your designated site and not allowed to wander onto others' sites.
- Leashing: dogs must be leashed at all times when outside your personal camping site.
- Cleanup: owners are required to promptly clean up after their dogs using a poop scoop or similar tool. It is also essential to prevent pets urinating on other campers' sites or equipment.
- Restricted areas: dogs are strictly prohibited from the swimming pool area and the ablution facilities.
- Noise control: please ensure your pets are quiet and do not disturb other guests.
- Wildlife protection: pets found chasing wildlife will lead to immediate expulsion from the park.
- Liability: pet owners assume full liability for their pets and agree to indemnify the caravan park against any damages or claims arising from their pet's presence.
- Initial breach: a charge of R50 per day will be imposed for any breach of these rules.
- Repeated breach: further violations will result in being asked to leave the resort with no refund entitlement.
- Park home owners: repeated breaches will result in a permanent daily pet fee being added to the account.
- Identification: all dogs must wear collars with their owner's contact details, to prevent them being sent to the SPCA if found unattended.
- Understanding and preparation: owners must recognise the unfamiliar environment for their pets and act accordingly to prevent any issues.
Visitors
- We do not take general day visitors. What is permitted is visitors to a camper already staying in the park.
- Visitor fees are R100 per adult, R50 per child and R50 per senior (60+), payable at reception on arrival during office hours.
- Visitors are the responsibility of the camper they are visiting. Please ensure your visitors know the resort rules and that their fees have been paid.
- Visitors may not launch boats.
- To regulate the volume of guests, the resort may, without notice, impose a "No Visitor" policy.
Generators
- Generators are not permitted anywhere in the park.
- Every site is electrified and electricity is included in the camping fee. Guests wanting a backup should use solar or another non-motorised alternative.
Boats
- Campers may launch, and there is no charge for boats in any season.
- Launching is at the River Camp. This is not an official launch site and is not open to the public — guests of the resort only.
- Vehicles may not go beyond a certain point; small boats are hand-wheeled down from there. Launching is far easier at high tide, preferably a spring high.
- Visitors to campers may not launch.
Braai and Firewood
- Most sites have a half-drum braai with a grid. If yours does not, tell reception during office hours and one will be delivered at no charge.
- You are welcome to bring your own braai. There are no restrictions on braaiing.
- Braai wood is sold at reception. Charcoal, briquettes, firelighters, matches and lighters are sold at the shop.
- A braai hire charge applies over December and high season. Our team will confirm the arrangements with you as part of your booking.
Fishing
- Fishing off the rocks is permitted.
- A valid recreational fishing permit is the angler's own responsibility. Permits can be bought online from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment at fishing.dffe.gov.za.
Self Check-in
- Outside high season, you may go straight to a site without stopping at reception, provided your account is settled in full and the booking was made at least a day or two in advance, so we have time to register you for gate access.
- Self check-in is not available over high season.
